Armed robbers invade Delta varsity

Academic actions at Western Delta University, Oghara, in Delta State, had been momentarily disrupted on Thursday following the invasion of suspected armed robbers into the college campus.

When contacted by our correspondent, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.

He mentioned, “They (the suspected robbers) entered through the broken fence at the back of the school, but the police responded swiftly and they fled.”

Also commenting, a scholar chief within the University, Simeon Okpoko, acknowledged that “the incident underscores ongoing security challenges facing educational institutions and highlights the importance of vigilant security measures to safeguard students and staff alike”.
