Some bandits have kidnapped the spouse and two sons of the Village Chief of Galadimawa in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Aliyu Galadimawa.
The assault occurred on Monday evening at round 11.30 pm when the bandits, who arrived in giant numbers, fired photographs to terrorise the group earlier than breaking into the village head’s residence.
The kidnapped victims are the spouse of the village chief, Fatima Aliyu, and their sons — Abdullahi and Kamal.
The Sarkin Fadar Galadimawa, Hussaini Umar, confirmed the incident on Wednesday and expressed concern in regards to the insufficient safety within the space.
“Our security here is inadequate. We desperately need help,” he stated, urging the state authorities to strengthen safety within the space.
Umar criticised the present Mobile Police unit as inadequate, stating that the frequent abductions and violence have taken a heavy toll on the group.
“Around 20 neighbouring villages have relocated to Galadimawa due to the insecurity,” he added.
The Kaduna State Police Command has not issued a press release on the incident, and efforts to succeed in the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, have been unsuccessful as a name put to his telephone quantity indicated that it was unreachable.
In June 2024, no fewer than six individuals have been killed whereas a number of others have been kidnapped when some bandits invaded the Bauda and Chibiya communities in Maro Ward, Kajuru LG of the state.
