Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has condemned the burning of the church constructing of the Redeemed Christian Church of God by suspected hoodlums in Kontagora city.
Bago, in a press release by his Special Adviser on Print Media, Aisha Wakaso, issued on Sunday in Minna, the state capital described the assault on the church “as mindless and cowardly.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reviews that suspected hoodlums within the early hours of Saturday looted gadgets and set ablaze the church positioned alongside the Federal College of Education Road in Kontagora.
The governor stated the burning and looting of the church was not solely an assault on the Christian group however a direct affront to the peace and unity cherished within the state.
Bago stated “We completely condemn this act and inform our Christian brothers and sisters, in addition to different Niger inhabitants that the federal government prioritises their security, safety, and freedom of faith.
