FG palms over 20 CNG buses to Oyo

The Federal Government, on Monday, handed over 20 Compressed Natural Gas buses to the Oyo State Government.

The Chief Executive Officer and Programme Director of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, Micheal Oluwagbemi, performed the handover on behalf of the Federal Government on the Pacesetter Transport Service, Eleyele, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Oluwagbemi said that the deployment of CNG buses in Nigeria goals to deal with points associated to petrol importation and different challenges affecting Nigerians.

He stated, “Ibadan, for generations, has all the time been enticing since its founding; it’s a spot the place commerce thrives and a state of secret billionaires. This initiative demonstrates that the state is certainly a pioneer and a becoming place to launch the CNG programme.

“President Bola Tinubu has urged us to make use of our gasoline sources to advance the transportation trade, produce extra meals and fertilisers, and undertake different initiatives that may ease life for the individuals.

“We are beginning to take the suitable steps, although it requires us to endure some challenges. We can not return to subsidising our personal impoverishment. As a group, we’re dedicated to this effort.

“We present these 20 buses as part of a sustainable partnership with Pacesetter Transport Service to generate income, as they are valuable assets. We need more such investments to ensure a more sustainable mass transit system, contributing to a brighter future for the state and Nigeria.”

Receiving the CNG buses on behalf of the state authorities, the Chairman and Sole Administrator of PTS, Salami Dikko, thanked the Federal Government and President Tinubu for the initiative.

He famous that when he assumed workplace, he encountered solely 5 operational buses, a quantity that has now elevated to 81.
