FG warns states as River Niger water degree rises

The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency has warned the general public relating to the rising water ranges of the River Niger as of August 22, 2024.

This alert is available in response to a report from the Niger Basin Authority in Niamey, Niger Republic, indicating that upstream actions in Niger and Mali have contributed to the scenario.

An announcement on Friday signed by the Director General of NIHSA, Umar Mohammed, famous, “Flood waters from these two countries are expected to move gradually into Nigeria through Kebbi State.”

The assertion additional famous that dam operators at Kainji and Jebba on the River Niger have been knowledgeable and are totally ready to handle the scenario.
