One year after its release, one of the best Xbox Series X games, Starfield has received its first major expansion. Shattered Space promises new planets to explore, factions to meet, and weapons to add to your loadout. With an entire universe to hide the DLC in, many might be concerned they won’t be able to know where to go or what to do to even start it. Luckily you won’t be lost in space for too long looking for the new content by following these simple steps to starting Shattered Space.

How to start the Shattered Space DLC

Once you’ve bought and downloaded the Shattered Space DLC, you are ready to begin.

Step 1: On a new or existing save file, make sure you’ve completed the mission called One Small Step. This is the first mission in the game that introduces you to Constellation and only takes you around an hour if you haven’t done it yet.

Step 2: Enter your ship and choose any orbit on the map that does not have an active mission associated with it.

Step 3: Jump to that location and you will automatically get a distress call from a space station called The Oracle and prompt you to begin the DLC.

While you can start the DLC at any time, it is recommended that you wait until at least level 35 or higher.
