Kaduna relaxes 24-hour curfew

The Kaduna State Security Council has relaxed the 24-hour curfew imposed on August 4, 2024, following a assessment of the safety scenario within the state.

According to an announcement by the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, on Wednesday, the curfew will now be in impact from 6pm to 8am each day, permitting residents to maneuver freely and perform their respectable actions.

It stated Governor Uba Sani-led Security Council determined to loosen up the curfew after improved safety circumstances in Kaduna and Zaria cities and their environs.

However, safety forces would proceed to implement the curfew in the course of the restricted hours and take decisive motion towards any actions which will result in a breakdown of legislation and order.

“The relaxed curfew takes effect from Thursday, August 8, 2024,” the assertion added.

It famous that the State Security Council reaffirmed its dedication to peace and safety within the state and pledged to take all essential steps to protect them.

The improvement, the council stated, was anticipated to carry aid to residents who had been underneath a 24-hour curfew since August 4, 2024.
