Lady Gaga fans flocked to praise her dramatic appearance at the Joker premiere in Venice.
Taking to the film festival, the songstress-turned-actress, 38, wore a stunning black gown on the red carpet for the premiere of the film. The mesmerising Christian Dior ball gown, styled with a sleeveless look, helped the star turn heads – as did her array of Tiffany & Co diamonds and pendant necklace.
She wore an extravagant head piece as she stood beside her fiance, Michael Polanksy, at the event and fans were quick to share their appreciation of the look on social media channels such as Twitter/X.

One user gushed: “What a beautiful Gaga at red carpet,” while another agreed, adding: “As always, it exceeded expectations.”

Joker: Folie à Deux is one of this year’s most films of the 81st edition of the festival. It aired a world premiere on Wednesday, with Joaquin Phoenix joining Gaga – whose real name is Stefani Germanotta – in attendance. The film follows after the Oscar-winning DC film Joker which was released back in 2019. For the original film, Joaquin drew attention when he lost considerable weight to play the role of troubled clown Arthur Fleck, aka The Joker.

This time around, Gaga joins the cast as music therapist Harley Quinn. Co-star Joaquin told Variety of Gaga’s transformation before cameras started rolling: “Stefani also lost a lot of weight. I remember when I first met you in rehearsals and then you went away and when you came back, you lost a lot of weight. It was really impressive.” While Gaga did not directly address the subject, she added: “I think we transformed into our characters over a period of time and we continued to hone in every kind of detail.”
Speaking to AP from the event, the film’s director, Todd Phillips, said of the production: “It feels right, it feels correct to be back in Venice. It felt like the logical launching off point for us. On this one I’m a little more nervous. It’s a lot easier to come into something as the insurgent rather than the incumbent.”
