The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has launched an investigation into the current late arrivals and subsequent delayed departures of British Airways flights to and from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, which have occurred for about three consecutive days.
These flight delays, which started on August 27, 2024, have triggered important inconvenience to the travelling public.
The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NCAA, Michael Achimugu, in a press release on Friday, mentioned the NCAA has reached out to British Airways and launched an investigation into the frequent delays.
The assertion reads, “The consideration of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has been drawn to late arrivals and subsequent delayed departures of British Airways flights to and from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for about three consecutive days ranging from August 27, 2024, which has resulted in lots of inconveniences to the travelling public.
“The NCAA has contacted BA and initiated an investigation into these frequent delays to ascertain the foundation trigger of those delays and take acceptable motion to make sure passenger rights are protected and likewise forestall recurrence. The investigation will embrace intensified inspections beneath the NCAA/ICAO FASAP of all plane on the Nigerian route for regulatory compliance.
“The travelling public should rest assured that the NCAA will do all within its powers to ensure their rights are protected in support of the HMA’S policy to eliminate unnecessary flight delays.”
