No plan to take away Ganduje, says APC

The transfer to take away the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, from workplace heightened once more the final week following speculations that President Bola Tinubu could also be contemplating an ambassadorial place for him to depart the nation over his lingering corruption trial.

What began as a mere hearsay quickly gained momentum on social media and on-line publications, with many quoting some undisclosed individuals within the ruling APC and Presidency as their sources.

But some political observers believed the story might need been planted by some celebration stalwarts from the North-Central, who had been agitating for the management seat to return to their zone following the exit of Ganduje’s predecessor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

Recall that suspected thugs attacked and dispersed some members of the North-Central APC protesting in entrance of the celebration three months in the past.

The demonstrators had stormed the celebration secretariat, chanting solidarity songs and displaying banners that learn ‘Return APC National Chairmanship to North-Central’ and ‘Dr Ganduje, kindly resign to face your prosecution in Kano.’

In the wake of the protest, a former APC chairmanship aspirant from the identical area, Muhammad Etsu, filed a authorized injunction to cease Ganduje from parading himself as nationwide chairman.

According to him, the seat of the celebration management needs to be allowed to stay within the North-Central as an alternative of the North-West the NEC zoned it.

He mentioned, “It shall be one change of guard too many. There have to be stability, even within the administration of celebration hierarchy. That is a wishful considering.

“I don’t know if that’s how a celebration needs to be run. You can not run the celebration on instability or unstable construction. It gained’t augur properly for any celebration.

“The chairmanship of the celebration had been zoned to the North-West. That choice was taken on the stage of the NEC with all of the parts and organs of the celebration in attendance.

“If anybody feels otherwise, as I always maintain because we are a law-abiding institution, he is free to go to court.”

When approached for clarification, the APC Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, shied away from speaking about it.
