Oasis fans have been left reeling after the band announced that tickets resold on sites like Viagogo for their 2025 tour will be cancelled.
The iconic band, consisting of brothers Liam, 51, and Noel Gallagher, 57, recently revealed their 17-date Oasis Live 25 tour which is due to take in dates in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Dublin. However, following the initial sale, some tickets appeared on resale sites like Viagogo for exorbitant prices, reaching up to £6,000.
Fans have been further enraged over the cost of standard tickets, which have started at costs for over £100 which many feel is too steep. While the cost of other packages, and the fact that ticket prices increase when there is a purchasing demand, resulted in fans branding the 2025 tour a “rip off”.
But an update on the overall nature of how resold tickets will be processed has caused fresh alarm and surprise. Now many fans fear that the tickets they paid potentially thousands for could now be void.

On the Watchdog segment of The One Show on Wednesday night, Matt Allwright reported that Oasis are taking action against ticket touts. He revealed that the band’s representatives issued a statement confirming that they are closely monitoring unauthorised resale platforms.
He recalled: “Their team is monitoring listings on unauthorised resale platforms like Viagogo and tickets purchased on such sites are liable to be cancelled.” Fans are now advised to purchase tickets only through authorised channels to avoid disappointment.
On Wednesday, Oasis announced that more tickets to two extra Wembley Arena shows in London would soon become available to buy. But many fans, still feeling burned by the fiasco that unfolded when original show tickets went on sale, appeared reluctant to believe the sales process would be any fairer this time around.

Many had been left enraged when they were forced to join virtual queues to try to buy tickets with hundreds of thousands of other fans in line ahead of them. And many more were gobsmacked to see the price of tickets increase dramatically while they were waiting to buy them.
Oasis announced new dates via X, writing: “UK. Two extra Wembley Stadium shows have been added due to phenomenal demand. Tickets will be sold by a staggered, invitation-only ballot process. Applications to join the ballot will be opened first to the many UK fans who were unsuccessful in the initial on sale with Ticketmaster. More details to follow.”
But fans were bitterly sceptical about the new ticket sale plans. Many were concerned over the cost of the tickets – and if they would end up costing more than expected on the day of sale. One fan asked: “And you’re gonna ditch dynamic pricing right?” Another requested: “Please tell me whether the face value is 150 pounds or 350 pounds.” A further fan similarly remarked: “whether the face value is 200 pounds or 650 pounds.” While another demanded: “Reduce the ticket price, it is very expensive.”
Many others were confused as to how the band would determine who had been “unsuccessful in the initial on sale with Ticketmaster.” One questioned: “How are you going to collate who wasn’t successful first time? UK Ticketmaster accounts with no ticket?” And others predicted new chaos and disappointment, with one writing: “Can’t wait to be the 33256th person in the queue again!” And another wrote: “Can’t wait to lose out again.”
