Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested an armed theft suspect on Saturday.
The arrest occurred on account of an investigation launched by the report of a Toyota Corolla automobile snatched at gunpoint on May 2, 2024.
This is contained in an announcement signed by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh, on Sunday.
She mentioned the command started an investigation with assistance from digital reconstruction intelligence, and the operatives of the command tracked the automobile to 1 Micheal Luke at Ifego Guest Inn at Jabi.
The suspect had changed the registration quantity on the automobile with one other, studying Reg No: AGD 146 JP.
The assertion reads, “The operatives of the FCT Police Command on seventeenth August 2024, at about 12:00 p.m., in a swift response to a Toyota Corolla automobile with REG NO: ABC 258 LD, reportedly snatched at gunpoint on 2nd May 2024, alongside Kuje-airport street, and the identical automobile being sighted.
“With assistance from digital reconstruction intelligence, the operatives of the command tracked the automobile to 1 Ifego Guest Inn at Jabi, within the possession of 1 Micheal Luke.
“The suspect had replaced the registration number on the vehicle with another, reading REG NO: AGD 146 JP. During the search, one (1) POS machine, one (1) knife, glass dissolving chemicals, one (1) military jungle hat, and the original REG NO. of the vehicle were discovered in his possession.”
Adeh revealed that the investigation is ongoing, and the FCT Police Commissioner, Benneth Igweh, has urged FCT residents to report any suspicious actions to the police.
