Residents kill hunter mistaken for robbers in Bauchi

Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the loss of life of two people within the state.

Wakil who issued the discharge on Thursday stated the police acquired a misery name from Gwallameji {that a} group of hunters led by Commander Saidu Musa, ‘M’ 49-year-old armed with machetes and weapons, had been on the space to apprehend an unidentified individual following a grievance by one Ibrahim Lado, a resident of Hajiya Amina Lodge Gwallameji and residents mistook them for armed robbers and responded forcefully, overpowering and injuring them.

“Therefore, one of the hunters, Nasiru Adam, ‘M’, a 27-year-old resident of Tani-Yola, sustained severe injuries. Despite being rushed to ATBUTH for medical attention, Adam was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

“Also, three of their motorcycles were burnt,” Wakil stated.

In the identical vein, the command stated that on Tuesday, June 2, throughout a reprisal assault by a rival group of hoodlums often called ‘Yan Tokara’ within the metropolis one Rabiu Shehu was killed.

“The assault led to the loss of life of Rabiu Shehu, also referred to as Rambo, a 21-year-old resident of Muda Lawal, Bauchi.

“He was attacked and stabbed in the stomach and neck by an unknown person suspected to be a member of the rival group in the Bakin Kura area. Despite being taken to the Specialists Hospital, Bauchi for medical examination, he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor,” the PPRO acknowledged.

Wakil reported that the command has directed tactical commanders, space commanders, and DPOs to completely search the state to apprehend these criminals, stating {that a} discreet investigation has been ordered to uncover the circumstances resulting in the deaths of the 2 people.

The PPRO stated, “There is a heavy deployment of officers throughout the night, and every corner of the state will be thoroughly searched to ensure the arrest of those responsible.”
