The Nigeria Labour Congress has confirmed that its nationwide workplace in Abuja was invaded by safety operatives, believed to be from the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday evening.
According to an announcement by NLC spokesperson Benson Upah, late on Wednesday, the operatives arrested the safety guards, forcing them handy over keys to the workplaces on the second ground.
The operatives then broke into the ground, ransacked the bookshop, and stole tons of of books and publications.
The NLC condemned the invasion, stating that it was unlawful and a violation of democratic rules.
The organisation demanded a world inquiry into the incident and the return of the stolen supplies.
