South Africa opposition chief, 11 others get ministerial appointments

South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday introduced opposition chief John Steenhuisen of the Democratic Alliance would function the Minister of Agriculture as he unveiled his new authorities.

Ramaphosa, 71, re-elected for a second full time period, will lead what his humbled African National Congress calls a authorities of nationwide unity after shedding its outright majority within the May election.

“The minister of agriculture is John Steenhuisen,” Ramaphosa stated from Pretoria in a televised tackle to the nation.
