Sultan an establishment that should be jealousy protected, says Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has described the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’advert Abubakar III, as an establishment that should be jealously guarded and guarded.

Shettima acknowledged this following an alarm raised by the Executive Director of the Muslim Rights Council (MURIC), Prof. Isiaq Akintola, that the Sokoto authorities is allegedly plotting to depose the Sultan.

In an announcement on Monday, Akintola stated Nigerian Muslims would reject any considered deposing the Sultan after the state Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, deposed 15 conventional rulers for numerous offences.

Speaking on the ongoing North West Peace & Security Summit in Katsina State, Shettima advised the Sokoto authorities that the Sultan is way more than a monarch, saying that he represents an thought.
