UI closed over tuition hike protest

Following the protest held by college students of the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday, over the hike in tuition charges by the establishment’s Governing Council, the administration of the establishment has directed all college students to vacate the campus by 2 pm on Saturday.

PUNCH Online reported on Friday that college students of the establishment staged a peaceable protest over tuition hikes by the administration of the establishment.

Our correspondent noticed that the scholars, through the protest, carried totally different placards with inscriptions resembling, “We Say No Tuition Hikes,” “The Management Is Insensitive To Our Plights,” and “Our Parents Cannot Afford The New Hikes,” whereas they blocked roads resulting in the campus.
