Fayose denies dumping PDP, cautions in opposition to politics of bitterness

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on Monday, dismissed insinuations that he had dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party for the governing All Progressives Congress.

Fayose, who stated he would by no means be part of APC, appealed to PDP members to cease maligning his character and individual and cautioned them in opposition to politics of bitterness.

The former governor, who spoke in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, whereas addressing his supporters, urged occasion members to shut ranks, embrace peace and discourage divisions and factions amongst them in a bid to defeat APC within the subsequent governorship election within the state.

Fayose stated, “I am beginning campaigns ahead of the congresses in two local government areas. I will go to all local government areas and I will support them with logistics for the election of our party. I am not looking for opposition, If you say Fayose does not matter, wait, during election you will see.”

While calling on occasion members to come back collectively, he stated, “Let there be no Biodun Olujimi, Ayodele Fayose, Bisi Kolawole or Duro Faseyi factions in PDP, allow us to work for peace to have the ability to win election within the state.

Fayose debunked hearsay that he took appointment from Oyebanji, saying that was removed from the reality as Ekiti, a PDP state, should be rescued from the arms of APC.

The former governor stated, “I’ve come to inform you that the PDP should not die in Ekiti State. I would like you to have peace, please don’t destroy my character.

“When we come to election period, we will fight BAO (Governor Biodun Oyebanji). The PDP is not in order in Ekiti, let us come together”.

While harping on the necessity for occasion members to eschew politics of bitterness, Fayose stated, “I really feel happy with the works that  Governor Oyebanji have achieved thus far within the state.

“BAO is a humble governor. Thirteen instances, he has visited me in Lagos to greet me. We mentioned the progress and improvement of the state. I’ve to respect him, that has nothing to do with politics. He is the one governor that has introduced all governors within the state collectively.

“When it is time for election, we will confront him. I am a landmark governor in Ekiti State. We supported Asiwaju in the last presidential election because he is a Yoruba man, and it’s time for our Presidency,” Fayose stated.

Recall that the management disaster which has plaqued PDP in Ekiti State for some years noticed it divided alongside the traces of Fayose and Olujimi.

Consequently, there have been insinuations lately that Fayose, in view of his closeness to Oyebanji of the APC, has dumped the PDP and has been given an appointment by the governor.
