President Bola Tinubu has directed the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, via the Bank of Industry, to supply single-digit curiosity for financing to media organisations within the nation.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, through the sectoral press briefings to mark the primary anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration.

This was because the Federal Government stated it remained devoted to fostering a supportive atmosphere for the media and knowledge sectors.

The Federal Government, via Idris, had final week introduced that there could be no ceremony to mark President Tinubu’s first anniversary in workplace.

Rather, he stated ministers within the president’s cupboard could be featured in sectoral briefings to offer an account of their stewardship.

Speaking on Monday, Idris confused the administration’s dedication to transparency and accountability, which, he stated, have been central to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We are creating an enabling atmosphere for all gamers and stakeholders within the media and knowledge ecosystem to thrive.

“One spotlight right here is the latest directive by Mr President to the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, via the Bank of Industry, to increase its single-digit interest-rate financing to media organisations within the nation.

“It is now incumbent upon media practitioners to develop bankable proposals to access this financing facility being offered by the Federal Government, and I hope that you, the media, will take full advantage of this great opportunity,” he stated.

The minister urged media professionals to grab the financing alternative, reinforcing the federal government’s resolve to rebuild public belief in communication and successfully promote its insurance policies and programmes.
