Lagos seals bar’s generator part over environmental air pollution

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has sealed a piece of a social facility, Bar 38, over environmental infractions.

The state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in an announcement on Wednesday.

According to Wahab, the part of the ability was sealed on account of noise air pollution and the emission of dangerous air into the surroundings, which pose critical well being hazards to surrounding communities.

The assertion learn, “In a proactive stance in opposition to noise air pollution and different environmental infractions, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency @LasepaOfficial  initiated a focused enforcement operation in the present day, Wednesday, June 5, 2024. During the operation, it was found that Bar 38’s generator was emitting dangerous air into the surroundings, posing a critical risk to the well being and well-being of the encircling neighborhood.

“In adherence to environmental regulations, LASEPA promptly sealed the offending section of the generator to prevent further environmental damage and ensure the welfare of nearby residents. Dr Babatunde Ajayi @thetundeajayi, General Manager of LASEPA, reiterated the agency’s unwavering commitment to environmental preservation and regulatory compliance across Lagos State.”

He added that the state stays steadfast in its resolve to proceed defending the surroundings whereas prioritising the protection and well being of Lagosians.

He added, “We remain steadfast in our mission to protect the environment and prioritise the health and safety of our citizens, stated Dr. Ajayi. LASEPA encourages members of the public to report any instance of environmental violations to the agency, underscoring the collective responsibility in safeguarding the natural beauty and health of Lagos State for future generations.”

Similarly, on May 21, 2024, the Lagos State Government sealed over 840 occasion centres and social amenities for security violations and non-compliance with extant legal guidelines.

The Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Gbenga Ojerinde, disclosed this throughout a ministerial press briefing on the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre.

Ojerinde famous that the ministry’s choice to seal the occasion centres was to mitigate dangers and defend the lives and property of the federal government and residents.
