NSCDC requires crackdown on unregulated scrap markets to curb vandalism

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps within the Federal Capital Territory, Dr Olusola Odumosu, has issued a name for the regulation of pantaker markets within the area.

A Pantaker market is an open market in Nigeria the place scrap metals and used gadgets of any kind, particularly second-hand steel, iron and aluminium, are bought, or pawned.

Odumosu who spoke on the Monday muster parade on the NSCDC FCT Command Headquarters in Abuja on Monday highlighted the pressing want for governmental oversight in these markets resulting from their function within the sale of vandalised items.
