Parents demand justice over nurse’s mysterious dying in Imo

The mother and father of a 22-year-old feminine nurse, Ginika Judith Okoro, who died in the home of her boyfriend, Charles Ndukwu, in Ezeogba, Awaka, Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, have referred to as on the Nigeria Police and state authorities to unravel the reason for the mysterious dying of their solely daughter.
Speaking to PUNCH Metro on Thursday, the mom of the late nurse, Mrs. Caroline Nneji, stated, “My solely daughter died final Sunday when she visited a younger man referred to as Charles. My solely daughter who was 22 years previous was raised by us. She has a chemist store the place she treats sufferers and you already know as a nurse she goes to sufferers’ homes generally to deal with them. This fateful Sunday, she visited a younger man and died in his home.
“My only eye has gone. What sin did I commit that cannot be forgiven,” she wept.
On how she was knowledgeable of the dying of her daughter, she stated, “Around 9 pm on Sunday, the said young man by name Charles Ndukwu came to our house and told us that our daughter was unconscious and he took her to the hospital where the doctor confirmed her dead.”
According to the nurse’s stepfather, Mr. Nneji, “The suspect, Charles Ndukwu, told us that he went and bought pepper soup for our daughter, but she became unconscious after taking the pepper soup, and he rushed her to Edochie Clinic, Awaka in Owerri North where she was confirmed dead by the presiding doctor.”
Our correspondent gathered that Ndukwu had been arrested and remanded by the police for an investigation.
The mother and father of the deceased who couldn’t disguise their sorrow, referred to as on the police and state authorities to totally examine the matter with the view of unravelling the reality behind the mysterious dying and serve justice to them.
“All we seek from the police and the state government is a proper investigation for the unravelling of the facts behind our daughter’s mysterious death. It is the truth only that we are seeking for, after all our daughter cannot come back to life again,” they stated to our correspondent.
When the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, was contacted by PUNCH Metro, he confirmed the incident, saying, “The police are investigating the matter. The police are assuring members of the public and the family that they will do everything possible to unravel the cause of the mysterious death of the young girl.”
