On Tuesday, the Senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial District, Senator Abdul Ningi, returned to plenary periods following a three-month suspension.
The Senate had pardoned and recalled him, ending his suspension that started on March 12, 2024.
Last week, Deputy Minority Leader Senator Abba Moro moved a movement for Ningi’s recall, expressing remorse on his behalf and taking accountability for his actions.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, subsequently introduced Ningi’s unconditional recall after pleas from some lawmakers.
Ningi’s suspension stemmed from a controversial interview the place he alleged discrepancies within the 2024 price range, claiming the National Assembly authorised N25tn whereas the Presidency carried out N28.7tn.
